Water Closure
All water activities are closed due to high water toxin levels. Do not recreate in or around the water.
Anderson Lake is known for algae blooms that can close fishing and water recreation on the lake. Exposure to the toxins in the water can cause serious illness or death to people and pets.
Notification
Water is turned off in campsites 10-30 for the winter and will be turned on again in April. Potable water is available at the dump station.
Construction
In early 2025, construction will begin on the pan-abode restroom closest to the cabins and group camp. Please note access to this restroom may be limited at that time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Notification
The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission voted to keep the cabins at the park permanently closed where they currently sit. This was a difficult decision following an involved public process. Long-term planning, underway now through 2026, will evaluate the future of the park and other options for overnight accommodation. Day use in the park remains open, as does the Cama Center and café. Restrooms are not available in the lower beach area but are available in other parts of the park.

Dosewallips State Park has shut off the water for the winter due to cold temperatures. It will re-open in March of 2025. The winter water supply is located near the dump station.

There will be commercial tree removal operations in the 8 Mile drainage along the following roads: FSR 5130 8 Mile, FSR 5310100 Buck Lake, FSR 5130300 Lamb Butte, and FSR 5140 Falls Creek roads.
Contractors have plowed portions of the road in order to move equipment into place, and recreationists can expect to see machinery and tree removal operations throughout the winter. Operations have started on the 5130 and 53100100 roads. You can expect intermittent log truck traffic on these roads, in addition to tree felling, skidding, and processing.
To ensure access to groomed snow routes, a temporary parking area will be provided up the 8 Mile drainage north of Nice Campground, at the northern intersection of the Buck Lake loop road (junction of FSR 5310100 Buck Lake and FSR 5220 road to Sweetgrass Butte). Parking will remain available at the 8 Mile SnoPark for access to the west and east Chewuch groomed routes.

Due to possible freezing temperatures, the water at each campsite is turned off from Nov. 7 - March 31. A potable water supply is located in campsite #93. Exact dates will depend on the weather.

The Goldendale Observatory will be closed for part of January 2025 during facility and equipment upgrades. Please consult the normal reservation calendar for available dates and times. As always, no drop-in visits, please. Campus gates will be locked during closure.
January to early February programs will be limited to brief facility tours with no telescope viewing nor live interpretation. Normal operations will resume on Friday, February 7, 2025. All subsequent Winter 2025 solar and evening programs are now live on the reservation calendar.

Boating and Moorage
The pier at Mystery Bay State Park will remain closed until further notice. During a routine inspection, it was discovered that the pier may not be safe for public access. The buoys, boat launch, and moorage docks remain open. The marine pumpout station remains open seasonally April through October.

Entrance consolidation project has been completed. The east and west park entrances will be closed indefinitely to through traffic. Visitors may access the park through the new entrance at 625 Bear Creek Road.

Avista plans to start the winter drawdown of Lake Spokane (Long Lake) the week of January 6, 2025. Avista will attempt to keep the lake drawn down to a maximum of 13-14 feet below summer elevation for a duration of three to six weeks, depending upon flows and the weather. The boat-in campsites at Muley Canyon and North Shore are closed for maintenance.

Parks will complete a 300-acre forest health treatment in the 7 Mile area between fall 2024 and spring 2025. There will be intermittent trail closures within the project area during this time. Learn more and check for project updates here.

The Wetland Haven Trail on Silver Lake and the parking lot will remain open. Sequim Bay State Park has now winterized the water supply in the park due to cold temperatures. It will re-open in March 2025. There is still a winter water supply available next to the dump station.
The lower loop showers will be closed until spring, due to the ventilation heating system which is resulting into a steam and sanitation issue. The toilet stalls and sinks are still available.

Trails within Squak Mountain State Park are completely closed due to storm damage. The following trails are currently closed: Old Griz Trail, Phil's Creek Trail, and Eastside Trail. Construction
Trestles 32 and 32.5 are completed and open. However, trail surface improvements in this area are scheduled to occur late 2024.
The trail is closed at MP 38.5 west of Lebam due to a washout. Planning, permitting, and design of a bridge to span the washout is currently in progress.
The trail is closed between MP 48-49 at Trestle 48, east of Heckard Rd. The trestle and adjacent trail are unsafe for use due to erosion.
Construction
There is ongoing construction along the Levy trail. This is a long-term ecosystem restoration project conducted by the federal government, scheduled until late 2027. The work includes large equipment driving up and down the Levy trail. Expect extra noise near areas along the Levy trail and campsites 17 - 36.
