Lewis and Clark First Day Hike
Name of Hike: Old Growth Ranger Ramble
Length of Hike: 2 miles roundtrip
Where to Meet: Park is closed to cars in the winter. Park across the road (Jackson Highway) in the gravel lot. Walk the road past the park entrance gate to the kitchen shelter where the hike begins (short walk)

Restrictions: Trail can be wet and muddy during the winter months, there are tree roots to step over. Small amount of elevation gain throughout. Shorter alternate paths are available for those interested.
Registration Required: Registration not required
Things to bring: Rain gear is recommended (just in case) as well as warm winter layers. Many folks enjoy hand warmers too. Sturdy hiking shoes or muck-boots are strongly encouraged. No technical gear required, though walking poles are welcome.
